The day has come. Game Informer has published ‘Welcome to Leonida’, the 14-page cover story of issue 382 it teased last week, featuring exclusive interviews with several Rockstar leads and 12 never-before-seen screenshots. The digital edition launched under such heavy demand that, according to Polygon, the magazine’s app and website suffered outages and errors during its first hours.

The story, written by Marcus Stewart - a writer born and raised in South Florida - focuses on how Rockstar built its version of the state: the culture, the contradictions and the field research behind making Leonida the studio’s “most lifelike world to date”.

The headlines it delivers are the kind that define a countdown. Hurricanes and tropical storms confirmed with a rewritten weather system, over 170 animal species with Red Dead Redemption 2-style legendary creatures, a map twice the size of GTA V’s and a list of activities running from base jumping to scuba diving.

The digital edition is available to Game Informer subscribers; the print version will reach newsstands and mailboxes in the coming weeks. GTA VI launches on November 19 on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S.
