The Rockstar Store is stirring: is a GTA VI Collector's Edition on the way?

Backend changes at the official store, including a new wishlist feature, point to an imminent merch announcement. Fans are dreaming of a Collector's Edition like the Red Dead Redemption 2 box.

Rockstar Games’ official store has seen several backend changes this week, including a new wishlist feature, and the community is already buzzing. Creator Videotech (Ben), who documented the tweaks on X, points out that the Rockstar Store is rarely touched and that moves like this tend to come right before an announcement.

The most likely scenario, Notebookcheck reports, is GTA VI merchandise pre-orders: clothing and game-themed items, something with precedent at the studio. Both GTA 5 and Red Dead Redemption 2 sold shirts ahead of release, and the new title still has nothing of its own in the shop. Videotech also points to signs that Miami’s Kaseya Center will stock merch, which would fit the marketing campaign taking over the city.

Collectors are dreaming of something else: a Collector’s Edition in the style of the Red Dead Redemption 2 box, which came with a metal lockbox, a coin and assorted trinkets, with no disc. So far Rockstar has not hinted at any edition beyond the standard and Ultimate versions available since pre-orders opened in June. Worth remembering, too, that photos of an alleged collector’s edition that spread before the GTA VI: The Album reveal turned out to be, in all likelihood, a press kit.

For now, all of this is interpretation of technical changes: neither Rockstar nor Take-Two has confirmed anything. But with launch under two months away, the store waking up right now hardly feels like a coincidence.
