Yesterday we announced the Game Informer cover story landing September 29, and today the magazine itself has detailed what it contains. The source is official: the announcement is published on gameinformer.com by Marcus Stewart, the story’s author.

Game Informer’s issue 382 will dedicate 14 pages to GTA VI with interviews with several of Rockstar’s lead designers. Confirmed topics:

  • Advanced weather system simulating Florida’s “less sunny” weather phenomena. Tropical storms in GTA VI, confirmed.
  • Overflowing wildlife: “a staggering amount of wildlife, native and otherwise”, roaming Leonida on land, air and sea.
  • On-the-ground research: Rockstar explains how it documented Miami and Florida to create its “most culturally and aesthetically accurate and lifelike world to date”.
  • 12 exclusive screenshots and a cover featuring original artwork of Jason Duval and Lucia Caminos.

The story’s angle is how Rockstar built Leonida, its Florida parody, told with the perspective of an author who is a lifelong South Florida native. In other words: don’t expect a trailer on the 29th, expect world depth.

It fits what Rockstar has been saying for weeks: the New York Times statements were about world coherence, and now weather and wildlife point to the same message. November 19 smells more like alligator every day.
